The idea of self-ownership raises the question of responsibility for one's own development. Putting up certificates and diplomas in one's office is a familiar US-American trope, associated with licensed healthcare professionals, attorneys or military officers. In Europe, it is less common, in Germany specifically, it is considered pretentious. This work plays with this practice.
